Hydro Services River Hawk Encoder

The Hydrological Services River Hawk, model AD375AL, is a low powered, computerised shaft encoder with an in-built data logging facility, designed for field operation to enable measurement and recording of water level. The encoder and all electronics is integrated into the one enclosure for simple installation. The internal CMOS microprocessor enables the encoder to output measured levels in absolute format.

The River Hawk produces pulses as the shaft rotates, totalises the signal and outputs to SDI-12 and RS232 simultaneously. This signal relates to absolute level change from a set datum.

The signal can be viewed via the LCD display showing time, date and current water level and at the same time data is logged inside the in-built data logger which has the ability to record up to 50,000 events with 1 second resolution.

The River Hawk unique on-board help feature allows the user to obtain a list of commands with their syntax. The indicator LED flashes once a second as a heartbeat, giving the user confidence that the River Hawk is alive and well.
