SID Rotary Sludge Blanket Interface
The Raven SID Rotary is a portable field instrument designed specifically to detect the sludge blanket interface and display the interface elevation with a precision depth counter.
SIMPLE CLEAN ACCURATE
SIMPLE, WORKS LIKE A FISHING REEL.
The spring loaded Brake prevents the drum from spinning. The Counter measures the elevation of the sludge blanket in inches. The Rotary Handle is used to release the sensor probe into the tank and to reel it in. No touching any wet surfaces.
SANITARY, NO TOUCHING WET SURFACES.
Rotary SID mounted in base station on clarifier guard railing. The white kickstand locks the unit inside the claws to suspend it over the tank. Simply pull up on the brake and wind out the sensor into the tank. At tank bottom the sensor will be fully engaged in sludge; all red LED's will illuminate and the horn will sound. The counter is set to zero and the sensor is reeled in. When the sensor exits the sludge blanket, the lights will go out. At this point the operator notes the number of inches on the counter. This is the sludge level
CONSISTENT SAMPLE POINTS.
Each tank will have a base station mounted on the bridge guard rail. This ensures measurement at the same point every time. The base station also makes it easy for the user to operate the Rotary SID. The two fences on the face of the base station give the operator a easy guide to mount the unit on the rail.
DISPLAYS ELEVATION IN INCHES, NO GUESSWORK.
The counter displays sensor probe movement in inches of travel. Accuracy to 1/4 inch across 30 feet. The plunger resets the counter to zero. The yellow cable engages the black roller that drives the counter.
DURABLE FOR YEARS OF SERVICE.
The sensor analyzes changes in density throughout the tank and signals the controller to display the density with red LED's. CNC milled from marine grade stainless steel for precision and durability.
NO CALIBRATION NEEDED.
With only one knob, the controller is simple to use. The Sensitivity knob adjusts how small of a change in density will be detected and displayed on the red LED bargraph. At MIN, the sensor ignores the smallest of solids in the tank. At MAX, the sensor picks up the smallest changes in density such as the ragged edge on top of the settled sludge blanket. The waterproof Horn can be muted with the rotating baffle or turned off altogether.
