The 9500-D (Diesel) PowerProbe™ runs off of a 32 hp liquid-cooled diesel engine. It comes standard with a 175 ft-lb hydraulic hammer for direct push penetration. Like the 9500-PTO, this model can also utilise hollowstem augers with your choice of two available auger drive heads. This model comes standard with a 72" probe stroke that will allow for the use of 4' tooling and a rapid rail mounting system for easy transfer to another carrier vehicle.

AMS PowerProbe Model 9500-D Direct Push Rig

The AMS PowerProbe™ functions as a dual-combination environmental and geotechnical drill rig. This, combined with its dual capabilities of both direct push and Hollowstem augering, assures completion of comprehensive, complex field work. The versatility of the AMS PowerProbe™ and its tooling will be a key factor in your field success.

Direct Push Drilling Technology
Direct Push Drilling Technology (direct push) allows for a wide variety of direct push tooling and instrumentation to be advanced into a subsurface lithology. This is conducted using a combination of the static weight of an AMS direct push drill rig, hydraulic down pressure, and rapid hydraulic hammering. For some direct push techniques, such as Cone Penetration Testing (CPT), rapid hydraulic hammering is not used. Compared to conventional drilling activities, direct push technology:

• Is less labour intensive.
• Offers quicker setup time.
• Is easier to decontaminate and maintain tooling.
• Generates significantly less drill cuttings.
• Versatility provides investigators with a variety of soil investigation options.

Hollowstem Augering
Conventional hollowstem augering techniques are used to drill boreholes for environmental and geotechnical sampling activities, including lithologic description, chemical analysis, and monitoring well installation. The addition of Hollowstem augering capabilities to the AMS PowerProbe™ has greatly improved efficiency in the field.

Rapid Rail Mounting System
The fastest, easiest way to move your self-contained PowerProbe™ from one carrier vehicle to another. The rapid rail mounting system makes it easy to guide the PowerProbe™ on and off any carrier vehicle.

The rapid rail can be mounted on a flatbed, pickup bed, or trailer. Extra rapid rail mounts can be purchased giving the operator the ability to change carrier vehicles. The addition of rapid rail mounting system is a smart way to maximize the versatility of your PowerProbe™.
